David Paton

David completed his Law degree from the University of Glasgow in 2007 and a gained a Masters Degree in Human Rights and International Politics in 2010. He has experience working within a leading UK human rights organisation and previously volunteered at a rural NGO in Costa Rica. He is currently tutoring “Public Law in the UK and Scotland” at Edinburgh University and is currently in the second year of his traineeship at Biggart Baillie.

Formed in May 2009, the Scottish Human Rights Law Group is a non-affiliated, independent, professional network for those engaged in legal practice and study, in academia and politics, in campaigning and in the provision of advice. It exists to raise awareness and knowledge of human rights law in Scotland, and to provide a forum for discussion of matters of interest across the field. The group organises seminars and roundtable discussions on human rights and is accredited for the purposes of CPD.
