Rosalind McInnes

Rosalind graduated from Glasgow University in 1991 and worked in commercial litigation in private practice in Edinburgh before joining the BBC, from Maclay Murray & Spens, in December 1997.  She is Principal Solicitor, BBC Scotland, has taught Media Law at various UK universities and, as a former Council member, served on various Law Society committees.

Her book publications include “Contempt of Court in Scotland” (CLT), “Scots Law for Journalists” (Greens), “The Yearbook of Media Law” (OUP) and “Media Law and Practice” (OUP).  She also annotated the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act for Sweet & Maxwell.  She judges the Monroe Price Annual Media Law Moot at Oxford University and is a member of the Fleet Street Lawyers Society, Ad IDEM, MLRC and the International Media Lawyers Association.

SHRLG Archives

Formed in May 2009, the Scottish Human Rights Law Group is a non-affiliated, independent, professional network for those engaged in legal practice and study, in academia and politics, in campaigning and in the provision of advice. It exists to raise awareness and knowledge of human rights law in Scotland, and to provide a forum for discussion of matters of interest across the field. The group organises seminars and roundtable discussions on human rights and is accredited for the purposes of CPD.
