Evans v UK

A woman sought dispensation of her ex-husband’s consent to the use of frozen embryos, which had been created during the couple’s marriage. Her ex-husband withdrew his consent for the use and continued storage of the frozen embryos. The European Court of Human Rights held that there was no violation of Article 2 in relation to the destruction of the embryos, no violation of Article 8 in relation to the woman’s right to reproduce and no violation of Article 14 in relation to the woman.
