X v Y (Parental Rights: Insemination)

The sheriff granted an application for parental rights and responsibilities to a  homosexual man in respect of his son who had been born as a result of artificial insemination.    The father had agreed to be a donor for the mother and her lesbian partner in the belief that he would be allowed frequent access to the child.   The sheriff refused to make a similar order over the child in favour of the father’s male partner.
